Two Aussies on top of the eventing world

When it comes to equestrian sport in the UK and Europe, Aussie riders Clayton and Lucinda Fredericks are household names. Last year they hosted a hugely successful series on Horse and Country TV where they took viewers through the day to day workings of a busy eventing yard and shared their philosophy about all things equestrian and the challenges they face on a daily basis to keep performing at the highest level in their chosen sport of eventing.
They have both come a long way from 1994, when Clayton left WA and traveled to England to further his eventing career.

14 years later Clayton can look back on some huge successes, including winning the inaugural World Cup of Eventing in 1995, the 2007 Rolex Kentucky 4 star three day event, taking the silver medal at the 2006 World Championships and helping the Australian Team to a best ever 3rd placing at this event. As a result Clayton was ranked No.1 Eventing rider in the World for much of 2007.

Lucinda, UK born and now riding for Australia, has an equally impressive record, winning the famous Burghley Horse Trials on her brilliant mare Hedley Britannia in 2006, and followed this with a win at the Badminton Horse Trials in May last year.

Clayton and Lucinda’s CVs makes impressive reading, however past performances take a back seat in this Olympic year, when all efforts are clearly focused on making the Australian Team and winning gold in Hong Kong.

Mitavite’s partnership with Clayton and Lucinda began 2 years ago when we met to discuss how we could work together to promote Australian feed products in the UK. Since early in 2007 Team Fredericks have been feeding their horses Vitamite Cool Performer and using Vitamite Performa 3 Oil and Super Amino 66. They have been delighted how their horses have performed and have found that the Cool Performer has given their horses an edge over their competitors.

Along with Michael Whitaker, Clayton and Lucinda will be the face of Cool Performer globally. As well as Australia and New Zealand, Cool Performer has been launched in the UK, Sweden, Germany Switzerland the Middle East and Asia, with interest coming from many other countries.
